What are Exotics

What is an Exotic?
“Exotic” refers to nonindigenous or non-native mammals that landowners have introduced to Texas Ranches. The first release of exotics into Texas occurred around 1930 when a group of nilgai antelope were released on the King Ranch in South Texas. As of 1988, based on a state-wide survey conducted by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept, there were over 160,000 exotic game animals of 67 different species found in Texas. Texas Exotics can be found in 137 of the 254 counties in the State. HKR can furnish these and more. Contact Mike for details and question about scheduling your hunt
