Hickory Knol Ranch was built over the last 60+ years by James and Bell Hall. The ranch has two locations in Crockett Texas and one in North Western Louisiana. HKR is a working ranch with F1 cross and Longhorn grass feed beef along with active pine/hardwood tree farm.  In 2012 Carter Hall and his cousin Cathy Wheatly  along with their spouses Christy and Mike approached James and Belle about converting part of the ranch into a managed hunt operation.

Cathy and Mike own MC Outdoor Adventures www.mcoutdooradventures.com and have been professional guides in hunting and fishing for 25 years. Carter and Christy have extensive backgrounds in high tech operations and marketing.  So in February 2013 ground was broken on almost 600 acres  of HKR south ranch to develop a premier East Texas family hunting facility. Mike and Cathy utilizing their 25 years of global experience laid out and developed the facility where you experience true East Texas hunting within our over 500 acres of high fence or outside the fence on our native portion of the ranch.  Carter and Christy took their vision of what would be a good lodge with facilities and turned that into a reality. James and Belle helped through all aspects with their understanding of the land and much more.  By 2013 Whitetail season opening we had gone from nothing to being fully operational.

Look through our gallery of pictures and you will see people of all ages having a good time hunting, but mostly enjoying the outdoors. Our vision is being recognized because HKR has complete families enjoying hunting along with spouses who do not hunt  coming,  relaxing and enjoying themselves on the ranch. Besides hunting we are having classes to teach non hunters of all ages how to be safe and enjoy the out doors.  Mike is  a certified Master SCI Scorer, so your trophy will have all the certified paper work for the record books.

HKR has the ability to build custom hunt packages and can acquire any specialized animals we might not have on the ranch.  We also support multiple corporate groups  with hunts or team building events. At HKR we also pride ourselves with giving back with special packages put together for groups supporting veterans and other special needs groups.
